Sunday Is a Common Day with Nuno Prata

from by They’re Heading West

words and music: Mariana Ricardo
"Sunday Is a Common Day" was first featured in Mariana Ricardo's "Across The Way Going" (2009)

Sunday is a common day for being bored
We wake up late and count the highs and lows from the night before
Sometimes I go to parties and I can't figure out why
I feel so socially fit it seems a lie

But Monday is a new day so we go to work
We daydream through the week and wish to do the things we can
Sometimes I go out dancing and as I told you before
I feel so socially fit like I could score

Now Lou Reed is a guy I heard when I was twelve
I only got into it when I was sixteen or so
And for ten years I've been trying to sound exactly like him
But what comes out is poor and sometimes boring

But I'm not the kind of feeling sorry for myself
I stay home and I listen to the Belle and Sebastian
Try to keep it simple as can be
It worked for them should work for me
But what comes out is poor and sometimes boring
